Look Back in Anger is a play by British playwright John Osborne, first performed in 1956. It is often considered a landmark play in British theatre history, due to its portrayal of the post-war generation and its rejection of traditional theatrical conventions. The play is significant for a number of reasons, both in terms of its historical context and its lasting impact on theatre.

One of the key ways in which Look Back in Anger is historically significant is its portrayal of the post-war generation. The play is set in a flat in a working-class area of London and focuses on the lives of a young couple, Jimmy and Alison Porter. The play portrays the frustration and disillusionment of this generation, who felt let down by the promises of post-war prosperity and social mobility.
