A Passage to India (1924) is a novel by English author E. M. Forster set against the backdrop of the British Raj and the Indian independence movement in the 1920s.
The novel not only provides the readers with drama on a cosmic scale, but it also works on the level of social comedy and the comic mode functions as useful corrective to the cosmic mode.
