5.What do you understand by superstructure in Marxist Criticism? Is Literature an important part of the superstructure? 

According to Marxist theory  the superstructure can be  described as the space in  the social construction where in the ideas of law, religion, culture, ideology and literature work upon. Some superstructure can be very much dependent upon base while some can be relatively free from it. Literature is an important part of the superstructure as it has  a great relation with  the philosophical, cultural and  ideological trends of the  society, and also it  reflects relationships with the various social issues including those which are very central at the base.
