Discuss the literary style of the puritans.
Puritanism began as an agitation within the Church
of England in the latter half of the sixteenth century. It was a movement for reform
of that institution. It was the belief that the reform should be continued,
that more abuses remained to be corrected, that practices still survived from
the days of Papacy which should be renounced, that the church of England should
restored to the “purity” of the first century church as established by Christ himself
.
